Celebrity Inspiration - My Way

Hey Dolls!!

Who can resist Celebrity Style?  Not many of us, I know.  I’m guilty of drooling over the style of some of my favorite celebrities.  So, how could I resist re-creating a cute style they’ve rocked?

I think it’s so fun to do this because although we may not have all the luxuries that celebrities have at the disposal like a stylist, their shopping budgets, and a glam squad – we can still be just as stylish and in my opinion even more creative with our wardrobe.  If you don’t believe me, take a look at all the blogger submissions to Kristina’s Bloggers Do It Better Series over at Pretty Shiny Sparkly
This inspiration came from Drew Barrymore.  I saw Drew rocking this outfit via Frugal Fashionistas blog.  If you need celebrity style inspiration, this blog is perfect at showing you how to rock celebrity style for less.  This is Drew rocking her style all the way back in 2008 and my 2011 interpretation.
The truth is Fashion Inspiration can come from any and everywhere.  I don’t know about you but I can be inspired by anything to create an outfit, from celebrities to color schemes on a company logo!  SERIOUSLY- like I said, anywhere.
I don’t know if any of you guys doodle, but I do it all the time.  But lately, instead of doodling – I have been finding myself writing down outfit ideas whenever they pop in my head.  Am I the only one who does that? Please tell me I’m not alone.  LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

What I’m Wearing:
Shirt:  Zara
Tank and Skirt:  Target
Boots:  Dillard’s
Sunnies:  Steve Madden via Marshall’s
Necklace & Earrings:  Forever 21
Bracelet:  Old Time Pottery

I will say that when you use someone’s style for inspiration, I think it’s important to make it your own.  Add YOU into the look.  Try not to be a carbon copy.  Think of inspiration like the drawing board for your interpretation.
So what do you guys think?  Did I do Drew’s look justice?

Love You for Following,
G

  4. I think you did a great job on the inspiration recreation. And you are not alone with replacing doodling with outfits ideas. I recently purchase the moleskine style journal and I fill it with inspiration ideas and possibilities of how I can recreate using my own wardrobe. It's fun to go thru and see what could work!!
