Mad for Plaid

Hey Dolls!!

I love this blazer I found back in May while thrifting.  You can do so much with it.  I played it really simple today.  Just wore all black and muted accessories with it.  I know that next time I’ll wear it completely differently.  You know how I feel:  Have FUN with your clothes!!!

What I'm Wearing: Thrifted Blazer/Target Necklace, Earrings, Pants and Tank/Kenneth Cole Sunnies/Zara Shoes/Ring purchased in Hawaiin Boutique/Gifted Cross

I’m gonna keep it short and sweet today Dolls!!!  Enjoy the rest of your weeked!

Before Pictures

Hey Dolls!!

As you guys know, I’m on this Fitness Challenge for MMFitness and my trainer Micah requested that I take BEFORE pics soooooooo here goes.

From the pictures you can see, I have a lot of work to do, but I’m all for it.  Getting in proper physical shape is necessary for me and I have a Fitness Goal to reach.  So this Challenge is really a jump-start to get there.

Micah is really pushing for me to get back to my competition body, but that isn’t my goal – LOL!!!  So we'll see what happens.

I blurred my face out in the pics because my after workout face is NOT cute, LOL!!!  But that's OK, I don't look cute when I workout I don't even dress cute when I workout.  I just don't believe in spending a lot of money on clothes that all I do is sweat in.  I'd rather spend my money on REAL clothes.  The only real investment I make in workout gear is the shoes and the sports bras.  Other than that, I'm not the "FLY GIRL" at the gym.

Today, we did an outdoor cardio workout with drills that tested my endurance.  Other than getting eaten up by mosquitoes, it was a great workout!!!

But, that's it for this post Dolls!!!!  Stay tuned for the updates.

Starting Now!

Hey Dolls!!

Some of you may remember that back in June, I began a rigorous Fitness Training program with MM Fitness.  My trainer Micah Morgan started his brainchild Summer Soldiers and it was very intense and very necessary [for me].
At the end of the Summer Soldiers Bootcamp, I saw great results and I was very proud of myself and then I got hit with a foot injury that caused me to have to stop working out for virtually the entire month of August and I felt like all my hard work went down the drain.  I was anxious to get back to working out, but my work load had gotten heavy and I started making excuses about why I was NOT working out - NOT good!  Because as my Mentor says: "Excuses are tools of the incompetent that build monuments of nothingness..."
But, I was so thankful that a few weeks ago, Micah presented a CHALLENGE on Facebook for Bloggers to experience a whole month of Training with MMFitness for free and blog about it for 30 days.  When I saw it, I jumped at the opportunity.  Why?  Because I truly believe that Micah is an EXCELLENT trainer that provides REAL results.  So, why wouldn't I do this?  Who better than me, right? LOL!!

Additionally, I need to get myself back on track to making fitness truly a regular part of my life.  Not that long ago, I was a Fitness Junkie and Gym Rat, even took it to the point of competing in a Fitness Competition in 2006.  (I placed 5th by the way).

I'm not necessarily trying to get back to competition mode, but I am making it a point to keep and maintain a Healthy Lifestyle - PERIOD

So here goes...I'm about to begin this month of intense training from Micah Morgan of MMFitness.  I have to admit, I am excited and nervous all at the same time.  But I know I'm in good hands!  I will continue to update the blog with my progress and results.  Wish me luck Dolls!!!!  Let's Go Micah!!!

Women's Empowerment Seminar

Hey Dolls!!

I wanted to share the pictures I have from The Women’s Empowerment Seminar my company hosted earlier this year.  We had such a great time!  We took a day to show women in the area how to EMPOWER themselves financially.  As we all know, bad things happen to good people all the time and for the most part, women statistically are left to deal with the brunt of the pain.

This event was really designed for women to gain knowledge on how to protect themselves and their families and feel empowered doing so.  We divided this event up into several topics of discussion and I was in charge of the "Dress for Success" portion.  I had a great time with this.  Here, I explained some of the defined dress categories for a professional and/or casual work environments.  You know what they say, when you look good, you feel good.  In addition to that, I shared the 5 Second Rule with them.  In life you really have 5 seconds to make an impression on people and it’s very important to make a good one.

We also had the pleasure of hosting our guest speaker Mrs. MarcyBlochowiak who is a very accomplished woman.  She shed light on her road to success and provided the women with her Top 10 Diamond Points for success.  She also gave each guest a copy of her Best Selling book:  “No Glass Ceiling, Just Blue Sky: A Women's Guide to Building Great Teams.”

All in all it was a fabulous event and every woman in attendance left EMPOWERED. Enjoy the pictures!!!

Haute Accessory Fashion Show

Hey Dolls!!

I had the pleasure of attending a FABULOUS event in the Tampa Bay area:  The HAUTE Accessory Show!  I have to tell you this event was like something that I've never seen in Tampa.  It was a Fashion Show and the primary focus was to highlight what brings our clothes to life...ACCESSORIES!!!

HAUTE is an event that highlights the contributions that accessory designers make to the fashion industry; featuring the unique and creative works of independent and emerging accessory designers.

I must say that I truly enjoyed myself at this event.  I was exposed to some fabulous designers in the Tampa Bay area whom I may not have gotten exposed to otherwise.  I'd like to share the pictures I managed to take during the show.  I have to warn you, there are a lot, LOL!!

Such a great amd diverse showcase!!!  I have to say that my favorites were the headpices by Boldly Unique and the accessories by Nicole Shannon.    Be sure to check out their sites.

After the show I got to snap a quick picture with the man behind it all Mr. Lacey B. Smith. Lacey is a pretty cool guy and a big power player in the Tampa Bay Fashion scene.  Prior to settling in Tampa Lacey spent years in New York City, there he assisted in launching the careers of numerous young designers and still serves as a mentor as they continue on their paths within the industry.

Lacey is also the Chief Executive Producer of The Fashion Movement a leading multi faceted fashion events production and marketing organization based in Tampa Florida. Through his organization, Lacey seeks to provide the platform needed for designers of garments and accessories and other visionaries in the fashion, style and beauty industries to market and establish their brands.  I LOVE it!!!  If you'd like to know more about Lacey, The Fashion Movement and upcoming events, join The Fashion Movement Facebook page!

Lastly, I snapped a few pics of my girl Tab and her daughter with one of the show's models.  Kaelin is in 7eventh Heaven!

Ok, Ok he is cute, I had to get a picture with him too, LOL!!

Overall, I think is one of the BEST Fashion related events I have had the opportunity to attend in Tampa.  If you want more pictures and information on the designers, please click (here).  I'm looking forward to next year's event!
