Academy Awards Fashion 2013

Hey Dolls!!

So if you’re anything like me and practically every other fashionista in the world, you were glued to the television last night to see who wore what at the 85th Annual Academy Awards, commonly known as The Oscars.

Well, there were some pretty good dresses and overall head to toe looks last night.  My number one pick went to the lovely Kelly Rowland!  She smashed the competition in her Red Carpet correspondent role in this Donna Karan Atelier dress!!!
My next favorite was Charlize Theron.  She looks amazing with her short coif and all white look and simple jewelry.  You have to be brave and confident to pull a look like this off and that she did.  Charlize is wearing a Christian Dior Haute Couture dress, Roger Vivier shoes, and Harry Winston jewelry.
Another favorite of the night for me was Miss Halle Berry.   Halle dazzles in this Versace sparkling stunner.  She said she wanted to look like a “Bond Girl” and she surely did!!
I also loved Jessica Chastain’s entire look on her.  Everything worked well and pulled together nicely in this copper toned gown with a beaded overlay. She looks very glam in her Armani Prive gown.
Amy Adams looks like a Princess as always in her Oscar de la Renta gown and Moa jewelry.  Something about this look is just gorgeous and fits Amy perfectly.  There is color and details there; it’s very soft and subtle.  But it totally works for Amy and her personality.  It’s a lot of dress but it’s not overwhelming.
I love, love, love Jennifer Hudson’s Red Carpet dress.  But something about the hair feels a bit too heavy for it.  Maybe it’s me, it’s like one minute, I look at it and think its compliments the dress and then when I look closely it doesn’t.  I’m glad that she worse a beautiful color instead of a neutral. Jennifer is wearing a Roberto Cavalli Couture dress, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, a Jimmy Choo clutch, and Sutra jewelry.
Reese Witherspoon came to the Oscars looking oh so fabulous giving me Old Hollywood realness.  She was actually the first girl I saw on the Red Carpet that brought the color to the event.  Her look was head to toe fabulous and you Dolls know I’m a stickler for that.  This Louis Vuitton look suits her well.
How gorgeous was Robin Roberts in her Velvet Blue Marc Bouwer Number?  I’m so happy to see her back in action.  She looked amazing.
Salma Hayek was one of the last ladies to hit the Red Carpet and I almost missed her, but I’m so glad I didn’t.  This Alexander McQueen dress looks like it was made just for her.  I know we’ve seen this silhouette before, but I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen it on Selma and she knocks it out of the park with this one.  It makes her look taller and compliments her curves beautifully.
I’m not exactly sure how I feel about Naomi Watts look.  The top of the dress kind of reminds me of a costume BeyoncĂ© would wear for one of her performance.  But the thing I do like about it is the way it fits her body.  She is not spilling out of it nor does she look like the dress is wearing her, she is wearing the dress.  I could have gone for a bit more pizazz with the hair, make up and accessories.  Naomi is wearing Armani Prive dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, and Neil Lane jewels.

Jennifer Lawrence looks great in this Dior Haute Couture dress, a Chopard jewels, a Roger Vivier clutch, and Brian Atwood shoes.  Being a young girl, she still brings her youthfulness to the carpet in this look.  It’s very soft and demure.  Now as we know this ended up being a bit too much dress for her at the end of the night, poor girl took a fall.  But at the end of the day it doesn’t matter because she went home with the GOLD!!!  Congratulations Jennifer!
I had to include my FAVORITE couple of the night in this list.  How cute are Channing Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan.  This girl is very pregnant and she is sizzling on the red carpet.  They complement each other so well and to me they were the best looking couple of the night.
That wraps it up for me and my 2013 Oscar Fashion recap.  Did you Dolls tune in?  Who were your favorites?

How Many Ways - Gap Ripped Jeans

Hey Dolls!!

Its "How Many Ways" time again.  This month's feature is my Gap Ripped Jeans.  When I tell you I wear these babies so much, I think I have a problem. LOL!!  They are just so comfy and go with so many looks.  I have to make myself not pick them up on Casual Friday work days when we're allowed to wear jeans because they aren't appropriate for that.  But these are definitely my "Go-To" jeans in my wardrobe.  As with the White Blazer I featured in my very first How Many Ways segment, I thought I showcased these jeans many more times than this on the blog.  I guess all the pictures never made the cut.  Anyhoo, here are the looks for you guys to choose between:

So Dolls tell me what was your favorite look in my Gap Ripped Jeans? Please vote and comment below.

Christian Fashion Week 2013

Hey Dolls!!
If you follow me on Instagram (I hope you do), you know that I had the pleasure of being one of the stylists at the very first Christian Fashion Week.  This event was so amazing and I was honored to be a part of it.  I gained the connection to this event with the help of Tamy Lugo, a very fabulous and popular stylist here in the Tampa Bay Area.  Last year, I was online research the Tampa Bay Fashion Scene and I came across Tamy’s Blog and I was just in awe of her story and the success that she’s had in the Business of Fashion.  After reading about her, I reached out to her hoping for a chance to meet up with her and just pick her brain about Fashion and how to make a career out of it and she was so helpful and told me about the brainchild her and her team had developed called “Christian Fashion Week.”
I told her I’d definitely love to be a part of it and thankfully she kept me in mind when the time came to choose stylists.  Just to give you guys a bit of the back story…Tee Hee.  Here are some of the pictures I managed to snap at the VIP Model For Jesus Reception:

The vision of Christian Fashion Week is to create the world's first series of fashion shows and events around the idea of fashion with a Christian worldview, considering Christian values such as modesty, boldness, and true style and this event did just that.  There was a total of eight designers that were featured in the Fashion Show and they came from near and wide.  The designers included Renee Scarborough and her line Two Coconuts Swimwear, Julia Chew and her line Xiaolin, Sandra Hagen, Franco Montoro, Sumita Bhojwani, Pat McGhee, Carmelita Couture, and Alma Vidovic.  Each and every designer was fabulous with a wide array of offerings suitibale for a Christian audience as well as High Fashion Runways.
Since I was working the event, I didn’t get to take the kinds of pictures I would have like to.  But there was no way I was walking away with NO pictures, LOL!!!  I pulled out my phone every chance I got.  So excuse the quality.  But they came out pretty good.  I’ll also provide links where you can take a look at some of the professional photos to get a true feel of the garments from the show.

I had the opportunity of being the Stylist for Carmelita Couture.  Her body of work is amazing and she is quite accomplished having shown at Fashion Week and created pieces for well known celebrities.  Her motto is:  "I want to dress a woman into her true Identity and help her walk in a new form of Fashion Fierceness. "  Isn’t that beautiful? Take in all of the pics from the show.  I’m sure you’ll enjoy them.
