Kendrick Lamar - F.R.E.S.H.

Hey Dolls!!

Finally another Men’s Style File post!  This guy has so many reasons for him to be on your radar.  He is not only a Fly Guy but he happens to be one of my favorite musical artists and young businessmen and it doesn’t hurt that he’s a cutie as well.  LOL!!  I won’t go on and on about his looks (although I could, Ha!) but today we’re here to discuss his style.  Take a peek into the style of the Good Kid from the M.A.A.D. City...
I for one am very impressed by it.  Why, you ask?  Well because with Kendrick being a rapper, a young rapper at that, he took huge steps out of that stereotypical box with his attire.  He could have easily hopped on the trendy bandwagon that tends to be the norm for his peers but he chose a different approach.  Plus, he truly has style.  I get sick of people claiming to be “different” and it just comes off as sloppy or trying too hard.

He’s not a huge man in stature by any means but when he steps into a room or on the scene you notice him.  I also like that his style has layers of versatility.  Similar to the adjust that he makes in his musicality, he can slide in looks that range from casual, boho, tailored, and formal all while being himself and wearing the clothes.
One of the things I love is when a man can pull off accessories, like all kinds of accessories:  necklaces, bracelets, rings, watches, scarves, hats, ties, the whole nine.  You have to be careful with it because it can come off and gaudy, tacky, and dare I say it feminine.  Now I mean, unless that’s what you’re going for it’s NOT a good look.  Kendrick however pulls it off quite nicely.  He also does it with some unique pieces that you won’t find just everywhere on everybody.   You won’t see this one wearing “Big Ass Chains” and big Diamond studs (thank Goodness), and hopefully he’ll keep it that way.

As you can see, I just love Kendrick Lamar's his style!  I’m always interested to see what he’ll wear next.  This video below is one of my favorites because you can see Kendrick and his stylist as he explains one of his styling routines.  I like the fact that even though he has a stylist, (like the majority of celebrities do) it is evident that he is fully engaged in the style selections that are chosen for him and has some type of attachment or connection with each individual piece.
So Dolls, tell me what do you think of Kendrick’s style?  Which look is your favorite?

White HAUTE!!

Hey Dolls!!

Today's post will be a quick one, only because I don't have many pictures, LOL!!  This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending an  ALL WHITE affair to celebrate the 1 Year Anniversary of Allusions by A. Lekay Swimwear Line.  The event was a fabulous one to say the least.  She went all out with a live band, corporate sponsors, celebrity hostess, food, desserts and a synchronized swim team!  I really enjoyed myself.  Listen, I don't know about you guys, but I'm a big fan of theme parties because I like to see how everyone puts their own creative spin on whatever the theme of the party is.
I'm so happy my Blog Buddy Natasha of Fashionably Fabulous was there.  She did a really great post for this event, you can read all about it (here).
What I'm Wearing: Vintage 70s White Jumpsuit Glam Monochrome Textured Damask Stripes Knit Sleeveless Top Wide Leg Trousers Self Tie Belt/BCBGeneration Pumps/Turban from Beauty Supply Store/Acrylic Bangles from Marshall's/Aldo Sunnies/Forever 21 Clutch and Ring/Burlington Coat Factory Earrings
I must say I scored big time with this fabulous jumpsuit I purchased on etsy. I was randomly browsing last week and there it was. I saw it and HAD TO HAVE IT!  The seller ThriftHound2000 has quite a collection to choose from so be sure to check her etsy shop out when you get a chance. Super fast delivery and she even gave me an extra gift with my purchase, you can't beat that!!  These fabulous bracelets were a steal as well.  You wouldn't believe that I found them at Marshall's marked down for $0.70 cents each!  The only thing that could have made this a better deal would have been if I could have found more of them.

Hey Dolls!!

If you're anything like me, you borrow from celebrities all the time.  What I mean by borrow is borrow "Style Inspiration".  Let's face it now a days celebrities have a lot to do with the Fashion Industry from setting trends to becoming designers themselves its easy to be fashionably influenced by them.
As I always say, the main thing about inspiration is to still make it your own.  You can be an exact replica but you don't have to be.
What I'm Wearing:  Olsenboye Jacket/H&M Shirt/Forever 21 Jeans/Target Clutch/Charming Charlie Necklace/Missoni Shoes/Beauty Supply Earrings/Forever 21 Ring/The Look Boutique Sunnies
I bet you guts are wondering what celebrity inspired this look.....well here's the BIG reveal, LOL!!!  I just love this lady's fabulous style.  No matter the occasion, she is always dress FLY to me.  Today's look is inspired by the lovely Olivia Palermo
Sorry for the quality but I snapped this picture when I was in the beauty shop under the dryer on my camera phone.  I just thought the look was too cute and I couldn't resist re-creating it.  So Dolls, how do you think I did with my Swagger Jack of Miss Palermo's casual style?

Which Shoes?

Hey Dolls!!

Are any of you out there shoe lovers?  I’ve come to find that most women are.  I know I am.  Being a shoe lover can be a great thing, but sometimes it can cause fashion dilemmas like the one I’m having in this post, LOL!!  The dilemma is that I couldn’t decide which shoes to wear with this little dress.
This Joe Fresh dress another one of my great buys from JCPenney (yep, this was $6 too…Ha!).  I love this little dress and I have so many different pairs of shoes that I can wear with it.  I went back and forth between these two pairs of booties because I like them both with this dress.
What I'm Wearing:  Joe Fresh Dress/Forever 21 Earrings, Ring & Heart Shaped Necklace/H&M Horn Shaped Necklace/Betsey Johnson Bracelet/Bakers Gray Open Toed Booties/LAUNDRY by Shelli Segal Black Booties

Well Dolls, It actually all came down to comfort. I chose the Black Booties because as cute as the gray ones are, they are for short periods of time not a full work day and I wore this dress to work so I couldn’t take it with the gray booties.  I get up and down and walk back and forth too much in the office to have hurt feet.
But all in all, it’s great to know that I have options because you have to be creative with dresses.  They are not always the most versatile article of clothing to wear.  So shoes help with that.  I mean I know I can layer this dress to give it a different look, but shoes are very important to a look and I LOVE having OPTIONS!
