I find one of the easiest ways to pulls a look or style together is the art of Color Blocking. Color Blocking is becoming a classic style category in my opinion. You can do so much with it. You can be bold as I am doing with the colors I’m wearing here or you can be more muted and it all works. Color Blocking is one of my favorite ways of pulling together a fabulous look in almost no time at all.What I’m Wearing: Thrifted Blazer/Ann Taylor LOFT Tank/U-55 Jeans/Random Earrings/BCBG Pumps/ABC Trading Co. Ring/Forever 21 Necklace/Juicy Couture Bracelet
Now, you guys know I’m all about breaking rules when it comes to fashion, but for those sticklers out there, they are some helpful tips (not so much rules) for color blocking. Take a look at this color wheel for example.
This is helpful because the process shows you when you color block the recommended process is to a Primary Color, a Secondary Color, and a Tertiary Color from each color family to create a Color Blocked look.
Not that I was trying to follow the rules, because I just picked colors I liked together, but I guess my combination is in alignment with the color wheel tips.
Primary = BLUE
Secondary = GREEN
Tertiary = RED VIOLET (I call it: Hot Pink, LOL!)Then I threw in my yellow earrings and white shoes for fun. Yellow of course appears on the color wheel as a Primary Color and white isn’t there at all. See, EASY! So Dolls, you know I wanna know...Do you Color Block? What are your favorite color combinations? Do you follow the rules?
