Blogger Inspired Fashion Week 2014 Featuring: Megan - Frugalista Diaries

Hey Dolls!!

Are you guys still hanging in there with us for Blogger Inspired Fashion Week?  Today’s feature is dedicated to one of the first bloggers I ever followed.  If you don’t know her or her blog, let me introduce you to Megan Zietz from The Frugalista Diaries. Now of course, I was initially intrigued by the name of her blog when I came across it because you know we do the Fashion and Finance thing around these parts.   However, when I checked her blog out, I was hooked!
Megan’s blog includes her take on Fashion, Beauty, Home Décor, DIY and Food in the unique way that only a true frugalista can.  In the fashion category Megan shows her readers her personal style as well as showing you how to style items in multiple ways to get that bang for your buck.  Another one of my favorite things that she does is the “Look for Less” for very expensive and highly coveted items.  I have to say those deals are amazing!

This girl has been seen some of everywhere.  This fabulous doll has been seen on Glamour.com, Lucky Magazine, Daily Buzz, MTV, New York Times Style, Forever 21, Shoemint and this list goes on.  How’s that for making your mark in the Fashion World, starting as a blogger at that.  I’m so impressed!
Alright now Dolls, enough of me going on and on about Megan, I’ll let her tell you in her own words how she became the Frugalista she is today in her interview here:

Name:  Megan Zietz

Age (optional): 27

Full Time Career: Fashion Blogger/Stylist

Tell Me and My Readers a little bit about yourself and your background. I’m a stylist and blogger living in NYC with a special fondness for messy hair, shoes and lipstick. I started off as a
photographer and model, and moved into costume design and wardrobe before creating TfDiaries.

How would you describe your signature style? Feminine, Eccentric and Edgy

How do you go about creating an outfit or look? It always depends on my mood, some days I
feel Bohemian and some days I want to step outside the box, it just depends on how I’m feeling
and what’s inspiring me.

What is your FAVORITE Feature to accentuate? I’d have to say my legs, I’m super petite but I have grown to love my (short) legs.

Do you have any Fashion Challenges? Hmmm, maybe hemline issues - I’m 5’3 so things are often
ridiculously long.

What are your FAVORITE places to shop? I’m strangely addicted to random online retailers as
well as Nordstrom Rack, H&M, and TJMaxx.

Who are your FAVORITE Designers and/or Clothing Brands? I love Christian Siriano, Noon By Noor & Mara Hoffma

Is there a Fall/Winter trend that you’re dying to incorporate into your wardrobe? I’m definitely
embracing Glam Grunge while playing with retro prints & silhouettes.

Why Blogging? What turned you on to the Blogosphere? I was looking for a creative outlet after
my first baby (since Fashion Design was put on the back burner for the time being) and my
husband recommended starting a blog.

What thing(s) sets your blog apart from other blogs? I’m always trying new things and growing
my personal style.

Where do you see your Blog a year from now? Gosh, that’s a great question, more video savvy.

Name 3 Bloggers whose style you just live for. The Glamourai definitely. I really look to everyone
for inspiration, I really love how everyone plays with their own style.

As you know, my blog is geared towards FASHION and FINANCE, so tell me in what ways you combine the two.
Being a girl that grew up scouring clearance racks I definitely am always on
the hunt or a serious deal. I’m all about pairing high and low together, and making things look
more expensive than they actually are ;).

What advice would you give to up and coming Fashion Bloggers? Be yourself find your niche, do it because you love it and not because you want to be ‘famous’.

I have been inspired by her style from the beginning and after her revealing more tidbits about her passion for fashion, I am even more inspired.
Ok Dolls, I had soooooo many looks to choose from with Megan.  I finally decided on…"Blazer & Overalls” from her June 24, 2014 post.  I hope you like it Megan.
So Dolls, how did I do?

  12. Very good post to remember that these emails are still circulating, in addition to the advice you indicate, they are always very useful to take into account, in principle for all Internet users, but mainly for the less experienced, or seniors who are discovering the Internet and out of ignorance or fear of having their email account closed, agree to include their data, with the disastrous consequences.
