Week #2 of 2014’s Blogger Inspired Fashion Week is still going strong!! Today we are featuring the very lovely Agatha from “Irony of Ashi”. Let me tell you how much I love her style from Head to Toe. This girl is always put together like she is starring in a movie. Hair on pint, Make Up on Point, and the wardrobe is ALWAYS fabulous. Her style ranges from chic and classy to pushing the envelope with rugged details. Add to that, she also embraces her African roots in the most stylish ways.
In addition to Agatha’s array of style that is evident in her wardrobe, her accessories definitely bring her clothes to life. I fall in love with so many of them. She wears these bold stand out pieces that compliment her looks not dominate them. Listen, any girl that can switch it up often and still remain true to them is always alright with me! If I do say so myself, that is quite impressive and Agatha is an expert. I know you guys want to learn more about this Darling Fashionista, so please check out her interview here:
Name: Agatha Ash
Name: Agatha Ash
Age (optional): 23
Full Time Career: Oil and Gas Accountant, Style Blogger by night.
Tell Me and My Readers a little bit about yourself and your background.
Hello I'm Agatha, a Nigerian-American. I currently reside in the States-Texas to be exact and I come from a family of 11 children. Growing up, I learned the importance of hard work and determination and I live by those words. I graduated from college last year with a Degree in Accounting, so I'm currently an Accountant and a Blogger.
I own a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle blog IronyofAshi which I started due to my obsession with DIY's and thrift shopping- as a broke college student at that time, I found so much joy creating looks that were very inexpensive and comparable to expensive looks and since then, I've been hooked on sharing my style with the world.
How would you describe your signature style?
I don't have a main signature style but my style has a lot to do with my personality and how I feel at a given time. I'm certainly a lover of bold colors.
How do you go about creating an outfit or look?
I love playing dress-up, I go through my closet and try on pieces one after the other till I find something I like, other times, my mood influences it.
What is your FAVORITE Feature to accentuate?
I wish I could say my cheek bones LOL, but it would be my legs. I used to dread wearing heels as a 5'10 lady but I love how I feel and look when I wear high heels.
Do you have any Fashion Challenges?
I would say keeping up with trends and deciding whether most items are purchase worthy or just to satisfy the trend Gods. The fashion world revolves a lot around trends so there's a fine line between staying trendy and spending money on worthless items.
What are your FAVORITE places to shop?
I'm part of the online shopping gang; I love ASOS, H&M and Zara mostly because of their ability to make runway looks very affordable and high end. I also love exploring Ebay religiously because I love a good steal!
Who are your FAVORITE Designers and/or Clothing Brands?
Alexander Mcqueen, Deola Sagoe, Jessica Simpson, and BCBG to name a few.
Is there a Fall/Winter trend that you’re dying to incorporate into your wardrobe?
I'm loving the muted monotoned looks, ever since Kim K. stepped out in that all nude/camel outfit, I've been wanting to try it!
Why Blogging? What turned you on to the Blogosphere?
Blogging is too much fun- when in for the right reasons, it's a great outlet to share my thoughts and express myself to people. It's something I enjoy so much that has inspired and improved my creativity and intellect on so many levels.
What thing(s) sets your blog apart from other blogs?
There's always a common ground with fashion blogging but I think what sets my blog apart is just me being myself and staying true to my brand.
Where do you see your Blog a year from now?
I see a lot of change and improvement in the near future; higher quality content versus quantity, consistency and greater creativity.
Name 3 Bloggers whose style you just live for.
As you know, my blog is geared towards FASHION and FINANCE, so tell me in what ways you combine the two.
I'm a firm advocate of looking good and your bank account looking a 100 times better, I try to invest in classic staples so they can be worn all year round and I believe in recycling old clothes to complement any season.
What advice would you give to up and coming Fashion Bloggers?
Blogging is not all about glitz and glam or features; it entails a lot of work, let your passion lead you and not the possibilities e.g. free stuff, also be yourself and always stay true to your brand because there are days you will doubt yourself and compare yourself to others but they can never be you.
I told you guys she was Head To Toe Fabulous, so I was biting my nails when it came to recreating one of her many fabulous looks. I finally settled on…”Print So Bright” from her March 18, 2013 post. I hope you like it Agatha!
So Dolls, how did I do?
