Blogger Inspired Fashion Week 2014 Featuring: Keshia - Keeping Style Affordable

Hey Dolls!!

Today in Blogger Inspired Fashion Week land we have the Fly and Fashionable Doll Keshia from Keeping Style Affordable.  Keshia is new to the blogging world but definitely not a stranger to style.  I actually came across Keshia’s Instagram page before I even realized that she was a blogger.  I had to follow her because I was just enamored by her style.  It’s so effortless and that is one of the best style tactics to have in my opinion.  The way her clothes fit, it seems like she has a tailor on deck every day before she gets dressed.
Not only is Keshia stylish on her own, she helps other fashionistas create, celebrate and embrace their own personal style as a Free-Lance Stylist.  I love that she does this all while Keeping Style Affordable.  You guys know how I feel about that over here.  Keshia, her style, and her styling work are definitely Fashionable and Financially Aware.  I know all my Fashion Loving Dolls want to learn more about Keshia and how she does it all, right?  Get to know this fabulous chick in her interview below.
Name:  Keshia Armstrong

Full Time Career:  Healthcare/Health Insurance

Tell Me and My Readers a little bit about yourself and your background.
I’m a Fashion Stylist here in the Dallas, TX area and I recently started blogging. I’m a single mother of 2 so I live for affordable fashion.

How would you describe your signature style?
My style is definitely “low tab fab”. I would say it’s a mix of Classy, Chic with a little edge and I never leave home without a fly pair of sunnies….preferably Cat Eyes!

How do you go about creating an outfit or look?
Because I’m a Shoe Lover first I create all my looks starting with my shoes. I believe your accessories make the outfit so you can’t go wrong with a hot shoe.

What is your FAVORITE Feature to accentuate?
I love to accentuate my curves.

Do you have any Fashion Challenges?
What I love about my body is also what creates a lot of challenges for me.  There are so many styles that I love but they aren’t made for the thick chicks.  So I stick to what works for my body type.

What are your FAVORITE places to shop?
I don’t have a favorite place to shop honestly.  I’m always telling my clients and readers to go in to ALL stores. If I see shoes, clothes or accessories, I’m going in. You just never know what you will find.

Who are your FAVORITE Designers and/or Clothing Brands?
If I could afford a high end designer I would wear a lot of Chanel. Her clothes are classy and chic with some edge…just as I describe my personality. I also like Rachel Roy and Diane Von Furstenberg as they know how to design for the “Everyday Woman”.

Is there a Fall/Winter trend that you’re dying to incorporate into your wardrobe?
I try to stay away from too many trends and stick to more classic looks because they’re timeless. I can’t wait to pull out my blazers, jackets and oversized sweaters. I’m looking forward to EVERYTHING leather and suede…faux or real! Oh and don’t forget the faux fur coats….especially the shaggy furs.
Why Blogging?  What turned you on to the Blogosphere?
What I love most about being a stylist is educating my clients. So many people feel they can’t afford to be stylish. It was always rewarding to see my clients face after a few hours of shopping. They couldn’t believe how much they got for the amount of money they spent. I wanted to share that with a broader audience and the best way to do it was through blogging.

What thing(s) sets your blog apart from other blogs?
I think my fashion is very relatable. Women of all shapes and sizes can look at me and say “I can recreate that look” with a few changes here and there. So many women are in my situation being single mothers. We’re always putting our children first and at the end of the day feel there’s nothing left for you. With my blog I show you how to get more bang for your buck and see there is enough left for you to be fabulous….Low Tab Fab

Where do you see your Blog a year from now?
I’ve only been at it since May, so I definitely plan on my blog having a more professional look. I compare my blog to others and I’m like “Dang, mine looks a little bootleg”..lol! I’m very creative and I do a lot of things that I would like share more of it with my followers like more DIY tutorials. There are other sides of me outside of fashion that I would love to share with my followers.
Name 3 Bloggers whose style you just live for.
Micah Gianneli (She is EVERYTHING)

As you know, my blog is geared towards FASHION and FINANCE, so tell me in what ways you combine the two.  I have a great shopping method.  When entering any store I hit up the clearance and sales racks first. I save so much that way. I try to avoid getting the newest clothing items because I know in a few weeks it will be on sale.  Patience always pays off!

What advice would you give to up and coming Fashion Bloggers?
Just be yourself. Don’t worry if people aren’t a fan of everything you do. It’s your personal style so own it. I would also say be patient. The followers aren’t going to come pouring out as soon as you start but don’t let it discourage you.  Just keep pushing forward.

I have to say I LOVED Keshia's interview and her desire to get more bang for your buck and still remaining fly!  I think I need to dub her as "The Queen of Low Tab Fab"!  I just love that saying.  It makes perfect sense and its so catchy.

Now choosing one of Keshia’s looks to recreate had me nervous, LOL!  I mean I love her pieces and they all have uniqueness to them that I was afraid my wardrobe would not comply with.  I literally wanted to recreate them all or go shopping so I could add the pieces to my closet.  In the end, I was able to nail it down to one look.  I decided on…"Simply Chic” from Keshia’s June 26, 2014 post.

The title of the post is EVERYTHING that this look is.  As I was putting it together for myself, I was like this is a really dope look!  I love it!  Thanks for inspiring me Keshia and I hope you like my recreation.

So Dolls, how did I do?
